Be Dhoni Kind of Lucky
In the world of cricket, there are a handful of players who leave an indelible mark on the sport. One such name is that of MS Dhoni - former Indian captain and a true magician on the field. With a career spanning over a decade, Dhoni has accomplished a feat that no other cricketer in the history of the game has ever achieved - winning all major ICC tournaments.
The road to success is not an easy one, and it takes unwavering dedication, persistence, and focus to achieve greatness. Dhoni's journey is a testament to this fact, as he has put in countless hours of hard work and effort to reach the pinnacle of his career. However, despite his incredible achievements, there are some who believe that his success is simply a result of good fortune.
It is a sad reality that many of Dhoni's countrymen attribute his career to luck, disregarding the immense effort and dedication that he has put in over the years. Even more disheartening is when this sentiment is echoed by his teammates, former cricketers, and experts who should know better.
"Dhoni has been a very lucky captain because he got an amazing team in every format. Captaining the 2011 World Cup team was very easy for Dhoni because we had players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, myself, Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan, Virat Kohli so he had got the best teams. Ganguly had to work very hard for it, and as a result, Dhoni won so many trophies." - remarked an Indian opener who has played with Dhoni.
When asked about this notion of luck, Dhoni simply smiles and says, "I love it when people say that. It's not like I am lucky. It's just that the number of people I meet and the connections that I have with them - they are the ones who pray for me. That's why I'm so lucky. It's not like I was born lucky, but over the years, whenever there is a 50-50 scenario, more often than not, it turns in our favor - whether it's me as an individual or as a team."
He keeps off the mic and gives a huge smile.
